In a Hospital. Shown from his point of view-it is shown in an out of focus way which may show us that he has a blurred vision. it is in 1st person point of view.
We find out later that he was the editor-in-cheif of Elle magazine and suffered from a stroke. He can' walk or talk. So this kind of gets in the way of his success, which makes us sympathise for him. He also doesn' want his children to see him in the state he is in, maybe he feels ashamed/ embarrassed. He has lack of autonomy as he is put on a wheel chair and through his thoughts he is saying 'its an honour that he can handle a wheel chair' in a sarcastic way. Also when he sees his reflection for the first time he gets in a state of shock as he says'Oh my god, whos that? Me?' He thinks he looks horrible. We share his emotions and lack of understanding of the situation as it's from his point of view, and when he needs to communicate he has to blink one for yes, and two for no.
